Taking the plunge.. :o)

  • Oct. 21st, 2008 at 11:17 AM
Day Dreams of Love
There's been very little of the sensational stuff happening out here on LJ and.... well, I finally got sick of the silence and decided to make some noise.

Okai, maybe it's not really some 'noise' per se, but it's a little spark I wanted to share with you guys.

Some of you will laugh, some will probably end up looking something fierce. But at the end of the day, don't say I did'nt tell you.

If you don't check LJ very often, you'll probably miss this post anyway and find out from someone else. Gosh! Don't tongues wag? :o)

I hope you get disconnected before you can slip your mouse into the cut! :)

Will he who took the plunge, please be kind enough to return it by Friday?

Sad, I know.... But this is what it's come down to..

Kaydeeyoh!

Friend pratibha75 sounds like the perfect one to stir gossip in a cauldron and share it with us freely. :)

You people have not been active of late? Or am I outside your protected entries these days? :o)

Nice to see you again though. I am much pleasured. :o)

Ah! *feels relieved!*

Public posts? Hmmm.... It's sometimes wise to have private and protected ones you know.. Of course, that depends on the type of stuff you're writing. Most of what you write is generally acceptable, and in many cases, people can learn from you. So I guess public seems about right.

You've not been active of late.. Does that mean you'll continue to not-be-active or that you're dying to get back and cut off some heads? :o)

Why would I ever exclude you from the friends list! And no I have not been posting anything on LJ either.

And if you want me to start some gossip, I would gladly do so :D

Oh.. You do know that in LJ you can have multiple friends lists kinda like venn diagrams.

You can restrict your posts to one friend-list or another. If a friend falls inside any one of lists, they can see the post. :)

That's what I meant by outside your 'protected' entries. :)

As for gossip, I'm curious.. it's been a while since we've seen any here on LJ. :o)

Now why on Earth would I ever do that? :)

And if that really was the news, I don't think I'd be wrapping the whole thing behind a cut. :)

Still, Thanks for commenting. :o)

Well, I tried to think of something to gossip about.... But my brain failed me. I'm lousy at making stuff up to talk about. :(

However, an old friend called me last night, and you and crabby's desire for gossip was rolling in my head at the time. Events, as ingredients got mixed together and I made a post. Not gossip in itself, but about it anyway. :)

Goshies! You're insistent are'nt you? ;-\

I'll try to salvage some from my thoughts over the next few days.. Meanwhile, i take you up on your gracious offer. :o)

BTW, nice user-pic. Should'nt you be looking older yet? Or is that what you look like now? :o)

I do look older and that's why I stick to the *old* user pics and not the new ones that make me look old!

lol!

Err... I read a friends blog. She was saying she's getting too old and was thinking of taking the plunge. Some levers in my brain got tripped, cogs creaked into motion, and it formed in my head. I laughed my socks right off my toes.

That's the story behind the statement. :) I could'nt get it out of my head, and posted it up for the world to laugh with me.

Is there something about taking the plunge that scares guys into an African frenzy?

Instinct
There is. :) Men since the dawn of ages, have been dedicated to the acts of wandering, foraging for food and spreading sperm. May the strongest survive, blah-blah..

Over the last few centuries, humankind began to take a new view toward the propagation of the species. Intellect, Wealth, etc. began to become powerful motivators to women trying to seek a mate that would have certain important qualities:

1. Ability to protect the offspring.
2. To clothe and feed it.
3. To teach the offspring in his ways.
4. To provide an empirical insight to the offspring through understanding and patience.

It must be noted that mental agility is a very very prominent trait and is sought only by the human female. It has thus far not been proven in any other species.

There of course are a number of other factors involved, like Health, Stamina, Strength, Hygiene, etc. that play pretty powerful roles in mate selection.

A man on the other hand looks for certain other traits. These are mostly physical in nature..

His mentality is based on a need (a desperate instinct) for spreading his seed (or sperm to be specific) the more offspring he can create, the greater the chance of survival of his blood. Survival.. Once bonded through a plunge, there's only one woman you can legally impregnate (barring of course simulated fertilization methods). :)

The plunge takes the instinct out of the guy. It's a very very scary thing.

Re: Instinct
Good explanation.

Looks like society (civilization and culture) has driven men and women on two different pathways of evolution.

Could it be that the male and female of every species is naturally really different, meaning they view procreation differently, but we are the only species that has taken this difference to the next level by being including the society factor? And we, owing to our vocal and communication skills, verbalize and exaggerate the implications of these differences?
